What do you think of the Covid-19 epidemic in Bremerton? Personally I think that most of us are being proactive and are concerned. When I shop I can see that--I can witness that for myself, so that makes me feel good. I also know that it's something we can't control right now. It's our lifestyle.
What is the best thing about Bremerton? The whole peninsula area is beautiful. The best thing about Bremerton is the water access, the boating community, the convenience to Seattle via the ferry. The whole community in general! I like the people that live here. I feel safe here.
What is the biggest challenge for Bremerton? Lately, the fact that we will be losing our hospital. It will be moving to Silverdale. I see that as a challenge for many seniors that live in Bremerton.
What do most people think of Bremerton? The answer is different. The younger kids, I think, don't really get Bremerton. The older generation that have been here for a few decades appreciate Bremerton and what it has to offer. And a great sense of pride of the Navy's presence.
Anything else you want to say about Bremerton? 30 years ago when we moved here we were going to stay for five years. Well, we've been here for 30, that should say a lot. We both worked in Bremerton; we realized that Bremerton has a lot to offer and we had no reason to move back to Port Orchard. Our children had married and started a family of their own and we are left with some good memories, with more to follow!
